It was..COLD. Haha. It was a good trip with the family, grandparents and cousins despite all the whinings and arguments, really small matters and they constantly make a tiny fuss here and there. It was kinda funny listening to them though for us, the younger generation. So there were altogether 16 of us. We had to borrow an Unser from mom's good friend to fit eight of us and another eight in another two cars. It was quite a nauseous ride. We packed and left home at 2am after the prayers, slept for a while in grandparent's house then headed to Cameron at 5.30am.
Went to the Boh Plantation. The view is just mind blowing. It is so beautiful, gets your feet off the ground. Serenity, peace and fresh air. Just beautiful.
Ever energetic grandpa going up the hill :)
:)
He used to be shorter..
I like this :P
The pasar malam is one of the main attraction. It is just nearby our apartment, so convenient. We went there to grab supper on both nights. It's funny, there's no hunger but when the weather is so cold and chilly, you just feel like eating and munching and get yourself bloated and overeaten. We grabbed everything that we could. Sweet corns, bubble tea, ice cream, kaya balls, fried kuey teow, fried char kueh.. It's so unhealthy haha. "We're on a holiday, think of dieting later."
In the apartment, when it's raining, there's nothing much we can do but play cards or gamble, for the adults. Haha they were like so depressed and low spirited when my aunt said she forgot to bring the mahjong set. Uncle Al almost went searching for it, it's that important. Alas, they played Russian poker instead, much quieter compared to mahjong. And the kids, we had our fun going too. We played Bluff with two decks of card, imagine that. Oh and we lost big time playing poker with Uncle EL. No luck betul.
On the second day, we went to a couple of temples to pray. There was a Ponggal event going on in the town, the participants were like having a hard time boiling the stuff in the clay pot because of the cold weather. We also went back to the bungalow we used to live in for years, another tea plantation, lots of shops, had steamboat at Water Cress Valley Restaurant and second round of pasar malam after dinner.
Strawberry cupcake. Yummm :)
Strawberry ice cream with strawberry topping sauce =D
A cup of tea?
Beer ice cream
The most beautiful part of the highland was the varieties of gorgeous flowers they had. There were lots of chrysanthemums, hibiscus, lavenders, roses and carnations. And since Valentine's is just around the corner, fresh flowers are available at reasonable prices everywhere. I do love flowers very muchie :)
Love love love this
