Apple Pie

They crumble.
They crunch.
They stimulate your taste buds.
They're sweet and sour at the end.
They leave an aromatic tingly feeling in your mouth.
They're like gummy bears.
You want more bites of them.
Your smiles.
They'll show.
How lovely apple pies are.

Happy days loves. :)

Cosmic.

You may be having a good time or cramming for exams, everybody's hyped out in one way or another for the new year. For me, it serves as a very good excuse to stop for a moment and look back at the things that I had and more importantly, had not learned. Call me old-fashioned, I had my resolutions for the year 2012 penned down on a piece of paper and frankly, I only managed to cross off one out of the five cause the four, I don't even know why I wrote such things down as resolutions. Read the papers? Lol. SO this time around, now that I have the skills and reliable guidelines, I wrote up a pretty 'judgeable' one which will be of more help for me to decide if I've achieved them or not.

I thought this year was quite a brief one cause everything still seems vivid. Picked out some random snaps and thought I'd say something on each one of them. :)

blink

This is a random one with random stuffs from the random operating centre.

Just wanna say that I'm really grateful to everyone who've made December such a blissful month. Seems like the entire year had been awesome. To me, that's Santa Claus came true. You guys are amazing. :)

"Seating is a very intimate kind of thing. The body comes intimately into contact with a chair."
I don't know why I laughed so hard with this but yea.

"There are movies that people hate when they see them for the first time, and they still hate them two or three years later. A bad movie is always a bad movie. The problem is that buried among the things that we hate is a class of products that are in that category only because they are weird. They make us nervous. They are sufficiently different that it takes us some time to understand that we actually like them."
Everyone could relate to this I guess, be it food, a song or a sinful thought. :D

Good day amigos, it's reaching the beginning of an ending.

Little Things

It's been a hectic but fun-packed week last week. Kudos to the OC of the School of Pharmacy Sports Day 2012 for pulling off such an awesome one within the span of mere two weeks. It was really well-executed and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. Jillian and I were the official photographers of the day but I ditched my camera every now and then to have fun myself. Came off fifth for the 1km run and my team, Team Orange Juice! championed the dodgeball competition. Of course, everything comes with a cost; bruised my knees badly and gave my muscles a humongous shock. Woke up the next morning with the expected entire body ache and had the time of our lives at the AIESEC LEAD Conference. Extremely awesome, inspiring and funny speakers. One of them looks and speaks like Russel Peters. :)

It's a really joyful feeling spending time you don't usually have doing things as simple as just talk and laugh in the library as if there's no one around. It's rare to come by someone whom you could jump straight to comfortable zone and just surprise them to the core. It's amazing how simple food like the food court's could give you such great contentment. It's beautiful how two people could sit over nothing and share a good time together (okay one had a sandwich, a cookie, a drink and a very hungry tummy and the other, lots of stories and time to kill intentionally) Lol. I've known them for a year now. If it wasn't for them, everything wouldn't have been as it is now. I know I'm blessed and cared for dearly when I had to postpone invitations or jot down 'dates' scheduled for weeks ahead. :D. Owh it's the winter solstice festival tomorrow. Thought of the time I packed them to uni last year and Cat had so much. Haha.

Focus on what you have right now especially the little things, you'll realise that you're a very very spoilt kid. ;)

This is our family. The SOP family.
Aren't we nerdy? :D

Beacon

There's always a first time for everything. :)

Been shopping a lot lately. Got a new camera lens cause the old one broke, twice. Went to Low Yat for the first time, thank goodness for the helpful friend, everything went smoothly and I got what I wanted. Law of attraction much? Or maybe it's just luck. And the salesperson was extremely helpful.

Today, class ended early so headed off to more shopping. This time I had a mission and it was a tougher situation this time, because of the evil four-lettered-word everywhere, S.A.L.E. I must say that I am really pleased with the sales assistants in this particular outlet. Such friendliness, it melts away the disappointment and frustrations I had earlier.

What happened was these two ladies approached me, I was like fine just be nice, filled up the survey, answered tonnes of questions of theirs. And finally they got to the root of their 'ambush', asking me to watch a video, trying to brainwash me with the idea of salvation and to follow them to some place to do something. I don't know what to think seriously. I stood there because I respect the subject and did not want to be rude by just walking away from it.

Well, I suppose everything DOES has its first time. Let's embrace the last days of the year with lots of anticipation. Good days, amigos! :D

Getting to Zero

Ahoy! Happy Decemberrr. The best month of the year if you ask me cause it's when I get fat. :D

And yesterday was the World's AIDS Day. I think it's important to know and be aware about things around you although it doesn't directly affect you, yet. Before being a part of the HIV/AIDS project, I was as ignorant about it too. But if you know what it does to people, you would want to do something to curb the situation. Things are always there in front of, around us. Choose to care.

Ahead are some snaps  from the Setiawan-Sekinchan trip with grandma and mom the week before. I did learn a thing or two about paddy planting-harvesting thingy and saw what goes on behind the seafood export industry in Sekinchan. Massive stuffs.

Great week ahead, lovelies.
*still excited for Mondays :P*

Nah it's actually rice with clothes on. Or the conventional way of saying it, 'husks' on.

One of the few snaps taken before you left. And although I laughed when I saw you broken, I knew there was something else going on somewhere deep down in me. You were beyond repair, what else could be said or done. Nothing.

18 months and still counting. :)

Epiphany

Hi there. Today's been great. Half of the usual crowd in uni, light drizzle instead of the usual thunder and storm, I don't know, it just felt different. The test was alright. And spending time with the interns was just wonderful. I kept forgetting and thought that they're locals. It's true that food connects people no matter where they come from. It's a universal subject everybody and anybody could relate to. Brought them on a tour around the campus like a qualified tour guide. They love our mamaks yo :).

Discovered many interesting things today; a friend I never knew I could share so much similar interests with, a validation that my decision two months ago was something very right and that I'm still a long way more to where I wish to be. And I still surprise myself with things I do when I don't think too much about it. Hmm.

Promises.

This is a random one before I doze off. I thought of how people say they would do something and in a week or so, they have completely forgotten about it. I believe I'm guilty of it as well. How easily distracted are we, I wonder. VERY. Especially with this thing you're staring at right now. You literally have access to millions and billions and more stuffs, which most of it you don't really need at all. But without it too, you drift away as different people or things come along and eventually get into your imaginary space. There's always something that is constantly there at the back of our heads.

The point is, promises are not restricted to something you propose with the word 'I promise' in it. A simple verbal 'okay' can easily be considered as an unwritten promise to another or yourself. It somehow overlaps with responsibilities and assurance I think. I guess procrastination is still the biggest threat to most of us, in getting things done, thoughts expressed, feelings conveyed, assignments done, appointments made, people confronted, water drunk, dog fed, toilet bowl cleaned, tweet twitted and the list goes on. IdontknowwhatImsayinganymore. Distraction, the bigger culprit.

Anyways, Pharmcal test tomorrow and meeting the interns from South Africa in the evening. :)

It scares me that it's coming to the end of the eleventh month already so soon. But the good thing is that Christmas is nearing. Are you as excited as I am? It's always been one of the most exciting time of the year for me. The family going on a get-away for a while and just be together and selfishly enjoy each other's company. And friends :D. And Santa.

I'm not busy, I'm just distracting myself. Fisheyeballs. Economic views. Curly arrows. Directions. RAwR. So we know both worlds. Asleep yet? Do Something Good. Rumah Hope. JFK. Handshake with Deputy Higher Education Minister. *Butt bump*. Frisbee. Gym. Chlorophyll. E.coli. What's for lunch? Propolis. Emails. Spiderman drinking milk. Random random. Kay tata :).

No.

People like them are so important, because they are the walking evidences who give us hope. Because of them, the belief of true, long-lasting friendships exist till this day. They show us that skin colours and cultural differences are nothing but excuses of the weaker ones. And they teach us that nothing is impossible. You can be handicapped but you are not underprivileged.

12 November 2012

Uncanny.

I always have this weird assumptions when good and bad things happen. Bad things, I must have done something wrong and so this is how I have to learn. Good things, someone is caring for me out there, who are they? I'm just weird and I've come to terms with it. Funny how people around me still stay by my side and go crazy with me. Haha. Cheers.

Stomping The Phantom Brake Pedal

Howdy. Today was indeed a great day. You do things you feel like doing, don't have to overthink anything. You just let the vibrant youthful energy fills you to the brim and without realising, you're smiling with no purpose. Your feet start dancing to the rhythm of the wind. Isn't it beautiful, just laying down on the grassy carpet, staring to the night sky and letting your thoughts take whatever images that come and make a beautiful virtual scrapbook in your head. I've always liked the sky. It gives me comfort every time I needed a lil' peace of mind. It's like there is someone out there who is constantly looking out for me. I know I could trust him, I know he's always thinking of me like how I think of him, I know he'll wish for the best for me in whatever I do. I loved him then, I love him now and I'll continue loving him. "Because after all, you never really stopped loving someone." The best part of all, we do not even have to be in the same time dimension. Cause we believe that distance and time are not normal beings' issues. The only thing that matters are the characters who are acting out the play - us.

"You can do whatever you want that makes you happy," she said. "Because you are a big man now. Nobody can stop you. But please know by heart that, this is your story. You decide what you want to tell your children, your grandchildren next time and how you want them to perceive you as a person. It still holds true that nobody is perfect but everybody has a living conscience. You do not just let them go to waste. If it was not good that you've done, then it must be the other way round. The world is always in equilibrium and so are you. What you think is true now might not be in the next couple of days. In times of struggle, just say those words. Whatever word that eases the aching network of tissues even if it is a name you have been trying to forget for years. Anything, my love."

Good night and good day! :)

Take me as your weapon

Tangled

Hey there. This will be a really whiny post, just stuffs I need to spit out and flush away. Kay I know it's the holiday, everybody's jolly cause they finally get to reunite with their families or finally we get to have a break from all the boring lectures and whatnot but really, I don't feel it at all. Today has been quite depressing. Facing the screen the whole day, the same MS Word document opened the entire day, don't know what to type, no one to talk to. Okay not no one, but it's like I'm waiting for something to happen. It's just stupid. I really need help to untangle these wires in my head. But I know it has to come from within me, no other ways. And attending the talk on Thursday kinda made the tangles more convoluted and tighter than ever. Knowing yourself too well is not always a good idea. It scares the shyt out of me really. Too much to take in. And I'm not the type of person who will just grab the first person I see and spill everything out to them. I analyse. I reflect and think of things on my own and I try freakin' hard to come out with a solution. I don't show what I feel, I just can't, I don't want to. That's how I make things worse than they already are for myself cause people keep coming and throwing everything at me and I'm there, accepting and swallowing and digesting. Most of the times, it does help distract myself from my own matters and also, to be grateful as I realise what I'm facing is just a tiny bit from the battles others are going through. It's always easier to see things when they're outside of you cause you get to see them from many different perspectives. Then there's another crappy situation when you lose your only current trustworthy channel whom you empty yourself to at the end of every eventful day. And I'm now replaying Kuch kuch hota hai's video thanks to Jana. Haha they're just super funny. Oh yea, finally watched Angels and Airwaves' Love The Movie. Almost fell asleep at the beginning but the message is really meaningful. Watch it especially if you've ever dreamt of becoming an astronaut.

Wow just realised it's one already. Shall wake up to a better day tomorrow. Goodnight and don't get bitten by the rainy day emo bugs. Tata. :)

Sugar & Honey

Happy November! Two more months and it's gonna be the end of this very memorable year. For some reasons, I'm just looking forward to celebrating Christmas and New Year. I like the feeling of being around family and friends. And it's not easy to have everybody gather together any more with so many commitments on our plates as we grow up. And it's nice to see the crowd grow bigger too with cousins bringing along their special someones for dinner. Okay, how did I even get into this topic. And I'm lost for words again.

Gonna rest early for tomorrow I'll be going for my pharmacy placement in Kajang. Hope to have a great time. Just wanna say that no matter how bad things get, there will always be a brighter day ahead. And it feels so good sharing with someone who is just like you. Hope to stay back more often and have dinner or just sit and talk all night like we used to, seriously. Me not driving is indeed quite troublesome as I have to be dependent on others and I feel bad having to say goodbye so soon every single time to them.

Most of the time, I don't do what I wanted to because I am afraid of changes and disappointments. I can survive better being thrown into the sea without warnings but it is extremely difficult for me to jump into a lake voluntarily. I am aware of who I am and what I want to become. And I really hope I have enough will power and courage to do this, for myself. I have to stop thinking and doing so much for others unnecessarily. Like Zee said, "Overdoing anything is bad." I truly appreciate the people who cares so much for me, I don't even know if I deserve this. They are the ones who made uni life so vibrant and joyful. A bunch of different personalities from different corners of the country sitting together, eating, laughing, teasing, gossiping, cracking jokes, reminiscing awkward incidents. Like that day, Sarah did my 'Catwoman' make-up for Halloween. She's just awesome I must say. And Jillian too, she offered me her cat ears when she heard about the event I'm attending. God, thank you. :)

Great weekend, amigos. Find fun in miserable times and you'll never live another day of mud face. XD

28 October 2012

Golden Floor

It's 3am and I'm struggling to stay awake to finish my assignment. It is only a 1500-word dissertation but I've spent the entire day on it and I'm not even half way through it. And it's my first time doing citation, I hope it's correct or else I'm screwed when I send it to Turnitin. I really am trying to not do last minute work but looks like this is taking up more time and effort. Perhaps I should go back to being a last-minute finisher.

Every week, I try to do something different, something life-changing, crazy, fun, whatever. Last Wednesday, I attended the talk by Mr. Yeoh Chen Chow. The way he spoke, you can feel the warmth in him, he's like one of your mom's friend's son who can mingle so well with anybody and everybody. I've definitely learned a lot from his one-hour long sharing session. It's sometimes hard to believe what these successful people went through in order to stand where they are today because a huge part of you really want to believe that you too can be like them. I dare not have expectations or at least high ones because I'm afraid of disappointments. But this man said we should always stretch ourselves to do, learn and give more. Perhaps what I should do more now is to learn.

It's a very satisfying feeling when you do something that is just you and people thank you and appreciate you for that. It's as if you are a contribution to the society with your mere presence in their lives. Everyone is someone else's treasure whether you know it or not. And for me, people who have helped me to become who I am today are my treasures. :) Good day.

P.S. Happy birthday to your mom. Hope I remembered correctly. :)

20 October 2012

You're the reason behind those smiles.

Howdy amigos. What better ways to welcome the weekend than doing something meaningful away from your thick heavy books and stressful timetable. Went for can-washing yesterday right after lecture with the whole gang from the class. Although it was raining, nobody complained but worked so diligently trying to get the work done as swiftly as possible. It's such an amazing feeling to obtain such contentment from doing something as simple as washing cans with your fellow friends in the cold drizzle. After that, attended a super last minute potluck party at the twin's apartment. Though we had simple, not-so-fancy food and take-away's but everybody enjoyed with endless joy in the company of awesome people. Playing Mafia was probably the biggest mistake for some of them especially Jordan. Haha face problem betul the whole night.

Today, woke up earlier than usual for the Educating children in Rural Areas (E.RA) Project in Pahang. It was an initiative by one of the groups in LEAD Programme in collaboration with the Reading Bus organisation. I've always wanted to do this, going to the rural areas, reaching out in whatever ways I could to help the aborigines. As you would've imagined it to be, twas a dismal sight with shortages in so many aspects. The first thing I saw when I stepped out of the four-wheel-drive was a pair of miniature slippers on the uneven yellow soil. I broke into a crooked smile before entering the hall where the children were. There were about 50 to 60 of them and they looked so innocent and ignorant of the lives they have yet to know exist if they would only reach their hands out to it. Or if they only knew it existed. It's 'heavy' to imagine myself being in their shoes and imagine not being who I am and where I am right now.

So we started off with a short ice-breaker. Then, it was free reading session. The kids were allowed to come up to the shelf and pick whatever books they like. You can clearly see there was a relatively big gap between the ones who are able to follow and the younger ones who are merely pushed by the current. Next, we distributed the new books on 'Bugs' and narrated it to them and they repeated after us. I never taught I would ever had the chance to do this, seriously. I went around trying to converse with them but obviously, their strength is in the Malay language. So I took a different approach and we did manage to understand each other. I saw their smiles when I high-fived them. Irreplaceable. And Pastor Charlie was really awesome in teaching the kids and getting them to be responsive and interactive. He shared a little about himself in the car, he's been doing this for 30 years now. It's just amazing.

It's been a really eye-opening experience. What I've realised and share would never be the same if you do not live it yourself for real. One thing for sure is that, if we have never seen something, we wouldn't have the desire for it. If you do not open yourself to the crazy amount of opportunities out there, you wouldn't know what suits you best or in the first place, what you would even have to ponder upon. It's pointless to be afraid, all you have to keep in mind is the precautions in case things go bad, which should be nothing surprising. I appreciate the love and care from everyone around me and I love you too very much.

Keep trying unless you're completely paralysed! Good day. :D

14 October 2012

Five peas for peace.

It's been an enjoyable week. Getting busier with classes and hanging out with AIESECers whenever there's break. I wish I joined AIESEC earlier though 'cause there's just so much to discover and so many inspiring people with priceless stories to be heard from. Now I get how these people bond together so closely in such short period of time. It is because they shared the same feelings and went through the same intensity of transformation that made them feel like they have grown to become better people with each other's support.

This past few days, I've come to realise that time is really not a factor in determining how well you know a person. You can know a person for a day and feel like you've known him or her for years because you share so much in common with them. It makes you feel like there's finally someone whom you don't have to explain every bit of yourself to. I believe I've found a really important friend, mentor and companion who may or may not stay around in my life for a long time. Nevertheless, it's been a great pleasure knowing him and hopefully no peas or ducks are harmed during the process. LOL.

I guess things are pretty much back to normal now. Went out for dinner together with family and grandparents today for the first time after the incident. The lil' one is officially free from whatever food-restraining order by the queen. It's just great, to be with the people you love and care the most and enjoy awesome food. Have a joy-filled and wonderfully blessed week ahead, amigos. It's beautiful if you just see it with the right mind. Peace, love and understanding y'll. :)

This is rare. I'm actually excited that it's Monday tomorrow and I have to go to uni! :D

What's next?

Howdy folks. It has been one of the craziest week so far for me. I've never felt so occupied, so highly on demand and appreciated for a very long time. Indeed the decision to join AIESEC and the LLDS was one never to be regretted. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect at all from it. All I wanted to do was to occupy my free time with something hopefully beneficial and exciting. I didn't know anyone there but Jana and Sam but they're in the OC so they're kinda busy with  their responsibilities. I got into the bus and sat alone by the window and watched unfamiliar faces appear from the door one by one. Finally, the head count was done and the journey to Gohtong Jaya began. My plan to take a nap was disrupted when Kairat came to sit beside me. At one glance, you'll think that he's Korean. I was wrong, he's from Kyrgyzstan and he reminds me of Jia. :). We talked about many random things including politics. LOL. And he thought me his language. Privet!

We didn't take long to set our luggages aside and begin the game session. It was really fun and definitely got us hyped up for the following sessions. Next, we had a look at our accommodation for that two nights and I was in the room of six together with Xue Ying, Rachel, Renny, Yi Jing and Sam. Without wasting much time, we continued with the sessions at the activity room where we were introduced to the fellow facilitators, organising committees and executive board. Then, we had the ice breaking game which unconsciously brought us into our own groups of eight. I am glad to be in my group, F.S.B which stands for faster, better, stronger. Love our roll call :D. Fast forward to dinner and the Dream session. For certain reasons, things happen and that night, I knew for sure that I was not alone. Christina had been the nicest, most caring and encouraging person towards me throughout the entire programme. Knowing her is a privilege of a lifetime.

So we called it a night after Adrian and Jana left our room and I woke up at 5am, went down wandering in the cold dark dusk. My legs brought me to a swimming pool and I laid there watching the twinkling stars gradually disappear as the morning sunshine greets us with warmth. During breakfast, I got a cup of milo and Chipsmore from my guardian angel. What a great feeling to start your day with :). Everybody's doing the sweetest thing they could for their mortals from writing flowery notes, preparing breakfast for them to sending them massage services, it was such a beautiful concept I think. If only we all do this in real life. We'll only be happily broke, I don't mind. More exciting activities. I love the Paper Factory game the most. Like I said, everything happens for a reason. I was welcomed into Jia En's group where the funny people were. I really had fun bargaining with the tree-selling fella, making deals with other groups(thanks to MapleStory, lol), persuading the 'Mexican dude' and seeing Jin close a deal with the 'client'. So professional. Seeing that kinda hit me a little inside, I don't know why. And during Talentime, they all knew what happened. Yea some lady with weird accent won the talent show. Haha.

The second night was a long one. Everybody was writing sugar cubes till late night. I wrote till 4.30am and I slept off at the sofa outside. I got more biscuits from my guardian angel. I kinda suspected it must be from one of the EB cause he didn't give me any note. Thanks, Zee. Towards the end, we took loads and loads of photos and we had a sharing session. For me, these people really inspired me in many different ways; Christina, Elwin, Jin and Jet. Thank you. It has been a deeply memorable and amazing experience for me. The things I gained is just priceless. The people I've met are a gift from god. And the most beautiful part is, this is just the beginning. By that, the month of September was concluded and I started degree. Happy day every day, amigos! :D

Rainbow after the rain.

My eye lids are like the black clouds, heavy with load but I want to remember today. As usual, I woke up to the melody of Boston and fall back for ten minutes. Wasn't expecting much out of today, was contemplating to be a good or bad student. It's like I didn't have anything to look forward to until Friday. Thankfully I did the right thing and stayed till the end. If it was me last time, I would have thought of the activities as lame and a mere waste of time but I actually thought it was quite enjoyable and was a good opportunity to get to know my potential classmates. What harm could it cause me anyway.

So what happened was I showed them how physically tough I could be. Haha I don't know, twas fun just fooling around and laughing uncontrollably like that. That three hours were joyfully spent with playing Charades, the running while acting game, drinking 1.5 litres of diluted apple cider vinegar and jumping with balloons between our legs and under our armpits. The most surprising thing was our group won first prize. The evening got better when I met up with a few former classmates in foundation and had a great sharing session with the elegant Farah Yunos. Thank you so much for the beautiful bracelet, it was a lovely surprise and very thoughtful gift, by the lake :D. Before that, I dropped my just-collected ID card and a lady came searching for me in the pc lab. Thank goodness.

It was a blessed day for me indeed. LLDS this Friday, have not packed a single thing. Long day ahead. Good day amigos!

First day of orientation. I thought it was super duper boring. Maybe I was too tired that I slept off during the briefing. I honestly didn't mean it as I wouldn't like it too if people were to fall asleep when I'm speaking. And I was sitting beside a senior who's busy with her iPad. Anyways, it's great seeing all those familiar faces again. Some of them changed their appearance a little, getting prettier and more ladylike. I enjoyed and really appreciate those who actually came up and said hi to me and we had a lil' chat. It's sad to see some who perhaps are comfortable enough staying within their own clique so they actually gave that I-didn't-see-you-there look and turned away when I looked directly at them and threw a couple of smiles. I felt like I was an alien with huge external eyeballs or something. So weird. The lecturers looked quite intimidating though, and there's darn many rules to abide to. It's gonna be awesome.

We all know that anything could happen, we just don't think about it that often. Hence, do what you think is important to you. Don't waste time on people who don't appreciate and love you back. Open up your heart and allow the right people in. It's okay if intruders get in cause one day, they'll come to realise that they don't have a nest to take cover it when the cold harsh wind or the hot blazing fire comes washing the don't-matters away. "It's not what you've lost but what you find."

Drunk after twelve.

Hello there. It's been a great weekend and a blissful Monday thanks to the West Malaysia. The big one is in Kuching now for work. So awesome the food there, I can imagine him wohlapping all the goodness there. So the usual four of us went on a day out shopping. We really let ourselves go, sort of like pampering ourselves a little and to welcome new beginnings. Bought some 'CNY clothes', (but we always end up wearing them before the festive days), finally got a taste of what the mille crepe cake out there tastes like (and yup I've got to work on mine, like way a lot), had Snowflake cause the craving was too overwhelming and had the very delicious Ipoh Hor Fun at Jalan Gasing before heading for home sweet home. I couldn't remember but I think I slipped to Slumberland that night with a permanent smile carved on my face.

Four more days. I'm counting down on the days and I am still as clueless as I ever was. We all know those times when we kept going on thinking about something but never seemed to get to the answer or at least, a conclusion. So you just let it go and fall to sleep cause you're out of zing for the night. It's kinda frustrating waking up to a few consecutive mornings with the same episode of your thoughts from the day before. But it's all right, it always does get better. 'Cause you know from experience, that after some time, it'll all fade away and look like a petty thing among all the other bigger stuffs in your life at the moment. I honestly don't know what am I even mentioning about. I think it's a syndrome I'm having.

Alrighty, time for bed. Oh yea, somebody said that eating cheese right before bed gives you sweet dreams. Preferably cheddar lah kay. So yup, cheese up! :)

Saturday Love

Love the sight, sound, feel (and smell?) of a lively bunch of overgrown kids having pure joyful moments. Teasing, pranking and making a fool of one another is a norm, more like a habit. No one is left out. Everybody gets to be at both ends of it. Sounds like fun eh? It is, always is. Yeah, you can say that it's not the same like it used to be. The ride in the car, the queue at the restaurant, the walk to the park, the position you stand in a photograph, the reason you smile, the food you enjoy together and whatnot. What is anyway. As long as those same familiar faces are still the ones that carve fond sweet memories in your heart. It's part of growing up; you take what you need and turn the rest into an admirable piece of art. A day well spent it was. May everyone be blessed and loved always especially you, my friend. Nights. :D

Anything Could Happen.

Howdy. Dang, feel so lost for words. To those who expressed their concerns, thanks a million. Really appreciate them. All is well, no worries. Relatives and friends in the home almost every day, it means a lot. And mum and dad had been telling the same 'story' over and over again. It really does feel like a dream. Like dreaming with side effects. Whatever that means.

Anyways, uni is starting in about two weeks' time. I miss those times where I'll be so excited shopping for a new pair of white school shoes, socks of the same colour tone, stationeries like erasers, ruler and those classic Luna colour pencils although the existing ones were still usable. In the end, I have the whole box of every residuals combined together, making art pieces at home out of school period like I'm Picasso or some random great artist. I didn't attend tuition classes until I was eight. And I used to walk to that fella's house just nearby. After a while, something happened and I joined Delta.

I have to say, although I was from an all-girls school, the sight of boys weren't at all alien to me. I'm just dead scared to talk to them. The first friend I had in tuition was Lily Hong, and gosh, she and Chee Seng were the tightest enemies. Haha. The things they call each other could make me smile for hours. Like what, Lian Chee Kang? LMAO. Twas definitely a better place compared to the home tuition. And then, UPSR year. More friends from the same school joined the same class, more companies for me. We always hogged the second front row, it was the MGSians' row. Sometimes, we had to combine classes and that's when concentration becomes difficult. The other class had more lively, crazy and outgoing people. I love when it's Math. Gosh, I swear I thought I almost died of heart attack so many times. Awesome lady.

And the ring incident. Now that I thought of it, that was the first time someone ever gave me a ring. No, I asked for it. HAHA. I was just fascinated okay. He had a ring on every single finger of his and there's even spares in his pocket. While waiting to use the loo, I thought why not, it won't harm anyway. Surprisingly, he held out both his hands and asked me to choose. I was so so so happy that night, not because of the ring, but because someone so tough and cold actually treated me so nicely. Sadly, the ring didn't survive long. I got into the waiting room, showed the ring to a friend, he took it from me and dented it flat with the leg of the table. Till today, I never knew the reason. But I thought perhaps they're just school 'rivals'. Oh boy, what memories.

From then on, I was always a kid. Been a kid till sixteen. Still a kid at seventeen. Eighteen, perhaps a lil' less. And now going on nineteen, hopefully I become more of an adult. I honestly don't know exactly what do people mean when they say they're an adult now, no more a kid. Do they mean they're no more sponsored by their parents? Or they've been through a lot in life? Their thinking changed? They reached 21? Whatever it may be, for me, it is the sense and act of responsibility that makes a person adult. I need to work more on the action part. I'm still very dependent on my parents. I have to admit, I like being their kid. :).

Lost for words konon. Forgive me for the clumsiness in my words, before, now and in the future. Sometimes, things just don't turn out as you imagined. May the best falls upon every beautiful hearts. Buenas noches, amigos.

I'm pretty sure this is me now. :P

An Unforgettable Nightmare.

Hello, amigos. First of all, I just wanna say that I am so very grateful to God that I am still breathing and all well right now. And even more thankful that my family is too. I still remember that I said to embrace this month with smiles and happy handshakes. That has not changed one bit. I just feel really really blessed and grateful that I still have my deeply loved ones with me. I thank Him for everything, for sparing our lives. No, more than that. He gave us all another chance to live.

I kept thinking and thinking, and I don't know if I should let it out here. Honestly, I still don't know. 'Cause really, it's traumatising and still creeps me to the bone every time I think about it. But, somehow I feel it's important that my friends know and realise the importance of what they have right now. I think I'm gonna just give a really brief account of the incident.

So it was a Saturday night, we were on our way home from Jusco Bukit Raja around midnight. After leaving the roundabout, cutting into the left lane, then wanting to cut into the right. Dad signalled for quite some time already, double checking the rear-view mirror before cutting out. And all of the sudden, a car sped like a mad bull from behind and hit our Myvi. Our car lost control and skidded to the left, made a few spins and flips before landing super hard on its roof, the car facing in the opposite direction.

Thank god, thank god I made it out the car and dad and mom too. But I heard mom shouting the lil' one's name as he was nowhere to be found. And when I turned, he was on the other side of the road. Thank god no car went over him or any shitass crap like that. He was bleeding so much on his head. Mom kept pressing his head and I kept shouting his name to bring him to consciousness. Luckily a really kind hearted Indian couple on the other side of the traffic offered to give us a lift to the hospital. And another group of Chinese youngsters too. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The disappointment and frustration struck when we reached Hospital A and the nurses asked us to go away as they don't have any brain specialist. I was like, come on la.. They even stopped dad who was carrying lil' one at the ER entrance and said, 'Tengok dulu, tengok dulu..' with one hand on the hip like we're talking about selling fish or chicken. Seriously heartless piece of cold meat. But dad kept asking them to help stop the bleeding first because lil' one was losing so much blood he was shivering like a fierce fish out of water. Fortunately, the same super nice souls actually waited and were more than willing to rush us to another hospital as Hospital A doesn't provide ambulance service.

From there, it was a long long night. ICU for one day. Thankfully, everything's all right now. He's recovering fast. Mom's eye is healing too. Our body aches are subsiding pretty swiftly with the usage of the counterpain like body lotion. Really, if we're not lucky, I don't know what luck is. And very heavily blessed too. I remembered I was completely conscious during the 'Flying Coaster ride', all I thought was 'Die lah.' and before the landing, 'God, please save us all. I beg you please.' The car's condition.. It's hopeless. A nurse who saw the car said that most probably the occupants were no go.

I couldn't thank enough to those who have helped directly and indirectly. May you be blessed in abundance in so many ways. I guess that's all I can say for now. Appreciate what you have and every moment spent. And, be safe on the road. Good day, dear amigos.

Filter. Paper. Art.

The clock struck twelve last night and I couldn't help but kept denying the fact that it's a brand new month already. It couldn't be that soon. Three more weeks and I'm back to school. Back to a whole new awkward routine and endless tasks that requires more of the logic-sciency kind of brain juice. I'm excited, I guess? Mostly looking forward for the orientation week. It's either yay or boo. Hopefully the former it is. Hfooh gotta try writing a lil' to avoid those hand cramps. It always happens to me after a lengthy break, I could forget my address, contact number, sometimes even my name looks weird in ink. One thing never change though, the words always float in mid air, so afraid to touch those grids. Oh well. Let's embrace this wonderful month with endless smiles and happy handshakes. :D

Happy September! :)

J'adore macarons!

Bonjour amis. Just gonna share some delicious snaps and I'm heading off to another dimension. So twas a beautiful Thursday. Went to Eng Ann to get some stuffs and headed back and got to work. Took me about six hours 'cause I was being really really cautious, didn't want to screw up (there's so much almond in it!). And my patience and prayers paid off well at the end with really cute, crunchy yet chewy babies. Satisfied and happy I was although my entire back and legs ached like mad due to all the hunching-overs in front of the oven. Twas magic, and me created it. :D.

And yesterday, had a good run while enjoying the beautiful shapes and patterns formed by the clouds. There's just something about the sky that makes me feel like everything else around me is taken away for a while and all I had to do is open my eyes wide and be amazed. I can't tell how but I've learnt quite a few things from it, nature. Sometimes, it pops up thoughts you don't expect. I don't know if it's normal or anything but I don't think it's at all crazy to have debates and small talks with yourself. But I always know that someone is listening. He's there and he loves me.

And ouh, I had a dream of a baby yesterday. A really cute and smart one. I was cuddling him in my arms and he was like touching my face and playing with my ear? His super tiny fingers, they are so delicate and ticklish. Twas such a happy occasion and I almost tear up looking at his pure joy-filled smiles. I know it's different from the usual but I don't think it's weird.

I think it's crazy good. Nights. :).

The lil' one made those smilies.
I thought the left one is scary-looking. Haha.

22 August 2012

I need some Kirsch!

Hello amigos, how's it going. It's been raining a lot these few days, making it so breezy and cooling. Me love it, although it kinda made me take more trips to the loo but that's okay. Actually, no not quite. Haha.

I feel like I want to just bake, bake, bake. Found so many good recipes from a favourite Singaporean blogger and some others. I have about a month left until the 'war' resumes. Time's flying swifter than I thought. Gotta get some ingredients and try out the birthday surprise I'm making her. I think I've found the right recipe. Hehe.

It's a short post. Need to run again. Good day y'll! :)

21 August 2012

P.S. I love you.

Came back home and didn't want to go to bed just yet. So I deliberately chose this one movie from the many I have in the folder. Now I'm just, weird. Haha. I really like this quote at the end, "Don't be afraid to fall in love again. Watch out for that signal when life as you know it ends. PS, I will always love you."

Sometimes, you don't have to share the same experiences or thoughts to be moved or touched. There are many other emotions and feelings you've yet to discover and learn to react to. Some, much lighter and cheery and some, way heavier than the usual. There's nothing you can't do really, you've just got to shove aside those unnecessary thoughts of yours and get right down at it. Just like the woman I love most. :).

I know I'm getting the best that I deserve. I just know it. Lovely day to all. =)

Broken Brights

Happy Raya. Happy Lemang. Happy Rendang. Happy Ketupat. I love the festive season. Visited dad's friend and tasted one of the best authentic Malay cuisine I've known. Yumyumm. And after that, lil' one and I tagged along god-uncle and family to KLCC for the Popular Bookfest. Packed. Super duper crowded. Everywhere you turn, you see a face or the back of it, with or without hair right in front of yours. But twas enjoyable. So so sooo many books. And so darn cheap. Like I said, too many options kills the brain. However, not that hard this time with the ruthless one by my side. Gosh, one thing he says and you could voluntarily crush your fancy dreams and wants to powder in your very own hands. Haha. We also did a 'quick browse' through the stationery and IT section. I spent most of the time at the kids and crafts area as always. Children, you have no idea how lucky you are. NO. Okay, then, we had dinner and walked around while enjoying the night view around the lake. Twas breathtaking. Too bad I didn't have Noelle with me. Anyhow, I had a great day today. I hope the same for everyone, everyday, everywhere. Goodnight. Lots of peace, love and understanding . :).

I never imagined you dead.

Went for the assessment yesterday. Twas kinda fun. Started off with some dances and then we had to sit in a circle. The situation was kinda tensed really because there were so many unfamiliar faces observing us. And we had to present about stuff that I honestly wouldn't give a crap about if not because of someone some time ago. There wasn't much crowd today, only got to meet a few fellows including a cheerleader. And then, the interview. I was the last to go which made me quite nervous and shivery as the temperature in the room started to decline. I went into the other room, saw their faces, didn't think much, only recognised them as males. They introduced themselves and when they asked me to do the same, I laughed a lil' too loudly and in a cynical way. Gosh what nervousness does to me. It was the exact same thing that happened during the degree interview. I clearly remembered laughing inappropriately throughout the whole 'chatting' session. In my mind, I was singing "Ooh you're so dead, LKY." But the right-hand-side dude kept yawning and I got a lil' distracted, fumbling at every word I had to say. The questions got weirder from one to another, from "Why pharmacy?" to "Sell this ashtray to me, but I don't smoke." Good experience indeed. Hope to receive good news these few days to come. *cross fingers*

Staying up late again. This is so unhealthy. Alrighty, photos of le bakes, mi amigos and ciao.

I find baking fascinating for some reasons.
One: Transformation.

It amuses me how a little heat could do such magic tricks.
I ain't no baker, I'm a magician. ;)
